Chapter 6
The Childhood
“Carl, Carl, Carl. Carl, Carl, Carl.” A familiar voice said.
“No, not the ghost guy again.” I said still half asleep.
“Carl! Bring your head up from our desk and pay attention!”
“What? Why does the ghost care about me sleeping on my desk? Wait! Sleeping on my desk? Where am I?”
“Carl, that’s it! You’re going to the principle's office!”
The teacher grabbed me by the hand and practically yanked me off my desk. I tried to pull back, but I was no match, for I had somehow lost all my strength. Am I really a child? That’s what they said in the Red Room. I decided to let her pull me to the principal’s office, and as I relaxed, I could hear the other children.
“Oooohh. Carl’s in trouble. Aww, widdle Carl warl is going to da pwinsaples office.”
As I finally got a good look at my teacher’s face, I recognized her. She was my teacher in 3rd grade.
“Mrs.Karalis?”
“Not a word out of you!"
Mrs.Karalis picked me up and plopped me on the soft, comfy chair. The principal gave me a stern look.
“I just don’t understand Carl. I don’t understand. Ever since the incident with your father, your mind has been in space.
The principal picked up the phone, and quickly dialed a number.
“Yes, Yes, I’d like to speak to Mr.Katari. Yes, pardon me for disturbing you at this time, your son-”
He eyed me.
